Could you tell us something about your background, your education and previous work experience?

My life before Teamwork Technology started with the Mavo followed by Meao. After that I did a year of High School in the United States, one year training as an executive secretary and middle management training.  After that I started my career as an enterpreneur, I owned an agency for selling portable exhibition stands. Unfortunately it wasn’t viable and I stopped after three years. I spent some time working for an employment agency and conducted the secretary for a slot machine operator before I started working at Teamwork Technology.

What made you choose Teamwork Technology?
I saw a three page advertisement  in the local paper “Wanted: secretary, must be fluent in English, age between 35 – 40 years”.  Using English was something I missed in my other job. Even though I was only 28 at the time, the fact that I had experience as an enterpreneur was considered more important than the age requirement and I was hired. I hated the first week because I was thrown in at the deep end (the two directors were almost constantly on the road). But when I realised that I could turn this job into anything I wanted,  my attitude changed completely. Since then I started coming into work whistling.

What motivates you in your work?
The fact that I’m important to my colleagues, the appreciation, freedom and space that I get. And also the amount of independence and the friendly atmosphere. The sentiment felt here is that we’re really all doing it together.

Where do you think the strength of Teamwork Technology lies?
It’s flexibility, the network that has been built op over the years, the people who work here.

What do you do besides work?
I do a lot of sports: running, spinning, fitness, golf and indoor football. I see my friends often to maintain my social contacts (ie not via hyves, facebook or linkedin). I also think of something I “really will do soon” about ten times a week. Often an idea in the field of handicrafts, carpentry or taking a course. I have broad interests but too little time for rest and leisure.
